Musical Director: Jim Pullen
Jim has been a professional musician since the age of 17 when he joined the Royal Air Force as a trombonist. His service career led him to the delights of playing double bass and bass guitar where he spent 17 years with the renowned Squadronaires big band and the RAF Central band. Towards the end of his service he joined the Waltham St Lawrence Silver Band as a tromobone player, and soon after that became their MD. He held this position for over 15 years before leaving to concentrate on his musical career.
Jim has had the privilege to have toured all over the world with music and can claim to have played every major concert hall in the UK. He puts his conducting skills down to his tutors and mentors: the late John Forster (RCM) and the BBC Listen to the Band's Frank Renton. Jim also holds the "bass chair" in the Rebellion Big Band and is delighted to be at the helm once again with Waltham band.
